
Kentucky Derby 2016 Weather: Latest Reports, Conditions from Churchill Downs
Churchill Downs got soaked by a brief downpour Saturday afternoon, roughly 90 minutes before the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby was slated to start, but the track conditions didn't appear to be much worse for the wear.

Passing Shower Hits Churchill Downs

The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore shared a detailed image of the passing shower on radar just as the rain started to fall:
WAVE 3 meteorologist Brian Goode offered another look at the precipitation hovering over Churchill Downs:
Chad Cowan on Twitter relayed a video of the storm as it reached the infield at the track:
And while the rain was intense for a few minutes, per the NBC broadcast, it tapered off in relatively quick fashion, much to Exaggerator's dismay, according to the New York Times' Joe Drape:
While muddier conditions would have aided Exaggerator's cause, the brown colt should still be considered one of the top threats to Nyquist's morning-line favorite status in advance of the Run for the Roses.
