Cavaliers vs. Hawks: Game 3 Video Highlights and Recap from 2016 NBA Playoffs
After a record-setting performance on Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers took their act on the road Friday and extended their series lead to 3-0 with a 121-108 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
The Cavaliers built momentum through the first two games of the series, outscoring the Hawks by a total of 32 points over the last five quarters going back to Game 1.
But that came to an end when Atlanta had a huge second quarter in Game 3, outscoring the Cavaliers 35-24. The Hawks maintained a 91-85 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Cleveland finally woke up, led by Channing Frye's brilliant 27-point effort off the bench. LeBron James chipped in with 24 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love also combined for 45 points.
The Cavaliers' three-point shooting barrage continued, as they hit 21 of 39 attempts from behind the arc in Game 3.
The Hawks desperately needed something good to happen after allowing an NBA-record 25 three-pointers in their blowout loss in Game 2.
It seemed as if Atlanta was going to end its six-game playoff losing streak against Cleveland dating back to last year's Eastern Conference Finals.
Kyle Korver played well off the bench, scoring 13 of his 18 points in the first half. Al Horford scored 24 points in Game 3 after putting up 20 total points in the first two games.
The Hawks just lost all of their momentum in the fourth quarter, as Cleveland outscored them 36-17 to secure the victory and move within one win of the Eastern Conference Finals.
