Spurs vs. Thunder: Game 3 Video Highlights and Recap from 2016 NBA Playoffs
The San Antonio Spurs took control of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 100-96 win in Game 3 on Friday.
The Thunder returned home after a much-needed win in Game 2. They excelled at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in the regular season, going 32-9, including beating the Spurs both times they played in Oklahoma City.
However, sloppy play by Russell Westbrook down the stretch really hurt the Thunder. He had two huge turnovers in the last five minutes that led to four points for the Spurs, which wound up being the difference in the game.
Westbrook did score 31 points, but he went just 10-of-31 from the field. Kevin Durant had an efficient 26 points on 18 attempts, though he also had five turnovers.
The Spurs had not been tested so far on the road in the playoffs, defeating Memphis by a combined 30 points in two games. They needed a bounce-back effort against the Thunder after failing to capitalize on their huge Game 1 victory.
Almost all of San Antonio's offense came from the trio of Kawhi Leonard (31 points), LaMarcus Aldridge (24) and Tony Parker (19). No other Spurs player had more than eight points, with Tim Duncan having just two points in 14 minutes.
