Eric Young's NXT Status
Eric Young was the latest surprise debutant on NXT, when he appeared on the developmental show earlier this week.
Young confronted new NXT champion Samoa Joe, working as a babyface during the confrontation. That has led fans to assume that Young is now a permanent member of NXT, but that may not be the case just yet.
PWInsider (h/t Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc.) reported that Young is not yet signed to WWE and is technically still a free agent.
Young wrestled Joe on NXT this past Wednesday and lost, but it hinted at something more substantial in terms of a long-term rivalry.
With Finn Balor likely to soon head to the main roster, there are some gaps at the top of the developmental brand.
Bringing Young in to work with Joe would be a smart move.
Updates on Returning Stars
As the dust settles on WrestleMania and a depleted roster works its way back to health, news has emerged this week over the fitness of two major WWE stars.
Seth Rollins has not been seen in the ring since last year, when he injured his knee on the company's European tour, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Middleton) noted that he is now not far away from returning.
This is great news for WWE. Rollins is one of WWE's biggest stars, and the article suggested that he is "expected back on WWE TV shortly." That is something for fans to look forward to in the coming weeks.
And there are more updates on injured stars, with the article revealing an update on Randy Orton's potential return to the ring. Sadly, that return is not happening any time soon.
The article noted that Orton is expected to head to WWE's Performance Center in mid-June, which would leave him some way off from a comeback.
But with Rollins likely to return imminently, business is about to pick up again.
