Less than a month after former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith was killed in a shooting that was apparently the result of road rage, his wife, Racquel, accepted a master's degree from the University of Miami (Florida) on his behalf.

The Saints also relayed a video of Racquel accepting the degree on stage during the commencement ceremony:

According to CBS Miami's David Dwork, the former Pro Bowl pass-rusher had been enrolled in the University of Miami's inaugural executive MBA program for athletes and artists.

Dwork also reported the school is planning to hold a memorial service for Smith during the MBA program's next residency in June.
