Ronda Rousey Allegedly Confronted Paige VanZant for Congratulating Holly Holm

Ronda Rousey is apparently still bitter about her upset loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

In an appearance Thursday on The Joe Rogan Experience (via TMZ Sports), fellow UFC fighter Miesha Tate disclosed that Rousey confronted UFC competitor Paige VanZant at a VIP event after she found out VanZant had congratulated Holm on her big win.

TMZ has since confirmed Tate's story with VanZant, who said: "It appears that I offended Ronda by congratulating Holly after her victory. The incident was very shocking and totally unnecessary."

Rousey hasn't been in the Octagon since losing to Holm by second-round knockout on November 14, but Tate has kept busy during the former champion's absence.

Tate unseated Holm and captured the women's bantamweight belt via rear-naked choke at UFC 196 on March 5, and she'll be back in action July 9 at UFC 200 against Amanda Nunes, as she seeks to emerge victorious in her first title defense.

Should Tate successfully retain the strap, it could set up a highly anticipated third act with Rousey.

The two have a history that dates back to March 2012, when Rousey first defeated Cupcake by first-round armbar submission in Strikeforce. In December 2013, Rousey followed up with a third-round submission victory over her nemesis.

In an April 6 appearance on Fox Sports Live (h/t MMA Mania's Michael Stets), Tate said she'd welcome one more showdown with Rousey as she eyes revenge.

"I sure hope so," Tate said when asked if she'd like to participate in one of Rousey's final fights, per Stets. "It's gotta be. I feel like I have unfinished business there, and I feel like I've finally hit the full balance of my career, and I'm in a really good place right now."

Tate told UFC Tonight on April 6 that Rousey would be out until "November or December," according to ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto, but if the current bantamweight champ can dispatch Nunes in July, she could set up one of the biggest rematches in the sport's history.
