Barcelona Transfer News: Giovani Lo Celso, Neymar Blow Amid Latest PSG Rumours

Rob BlanchetteMay 4, 2016

Paris Saint-Germain will beat Barcelona to the signature of Argentina sensation Giovani Lo Celso and could also break the bank to create a blockbuster deal in order to sign Neymar in the forthcoming transfer window.

Lluis Miguelsanz of Sport reported the reigning UEFA Champions League holders were offered the burgeoning 20-year-old starlet, but PSG have "seduced" the player's representatives, and he is now in line to move to Paris.

The Rosario Central No. 10 is expected to rubber-stamp his move to France "in the coming days," as Barca miss out on one of South America's top youngsters, per Miguelsanz.

There could be further bad news for Barcelona regarding PSG after separate reports suggested they will move for Neymar's signature in due course.

According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport), the Ligue 1 kingpins are "ready to spend €300 million" on the Brazilian and Cristiano Ronaldo, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic could soon depart for pastures new.

Despite the suggestion of Neymar's potential move, former Barca and Brazil striker Ronaldo said he will stay with the Blaugrana.

Ronaldo told Canal+ (h/t Goal's Patrick Gleeson): "He will stay at Barca. I don't think that Neymar will leave. He is well suited to the city and the team. I don't believe in the realisation of this transfer."

Joe Short of the Express also said Neymar could move to Manchester United as the Red Devils plot an approach, but PSG hold the edge in the race.

Barca's elimination from Europe didn't stop the attacker racking up the stats for his team, proving to be one of the most deadly contributors in the Champions League knockout phase, according to Squawka.com:

The Catalans will be hoping to bounce back next term after falling short of their lofty standards in 2015-16, and the sale of Neymar would not be a step in the right direction.

Any huge fee would need to be immediately reinvested into the first team, and purchasing a replacement would be almost impossible in the short term.

The only element that could see the player depart is if the Brazilian desires a move to step out of Lionel Messi's shadow in La Liga.

United and PSG could offer Neymar incredible riches, but Barca still remain the premier team in Europe despite their slip in recent months.
