Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Antoine Griezmann, Andre Gomes Rumours
Manchester United will reportedly go all out to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann and are preparing to meet his £63.1 million release clause in addition to offering him a "huge contract."
That's according to Kike Marin of Spanish outlet El Confidencial (h/t James Gray of the Express), who reported United "are ready to spend whatever it takes" to snap him up from Atleti.
United have scored just 43 goals in the Premier League this season, the same as Bournemouth, who are in 15th place.

Griezmann has bagged 31 in all competitions and provided seven assists. On Tuesday, he scored against Bayern Munich to fire Atletico into the UEFA Champions League final, and on Saturday, he kept their title hopes alive with this exquisite strike against Rayo Vallecano, per Sky Sports La Liga:
Indeed, as OptaJose revealed, the 25-year-old has a habit of bagging important goals:
Football writer Andy Mitten hailed him after Tuesday's heroics:
Compared with their title rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona, Los Rojiblancos create relatively few chances—almost 200 fewer than the former and nearly 70 fewer than the latter, according to Squawka—but Griezmann's clinical finishing has propelled them forward.
The striker is capable of making the most of what little he has to work with in terms of opportunities, and that makes him an outstanding candidate for a United side struggling for goals.
However, as journalists Paolo Bandini and Andy West noted, he has little reason to leave Atletico:
United will be free to approach him if they meet his buyout clause, and a substantial offer from arguably the Premier League's biggest club would undoubtedly be tempting. But with the club failing to convince under Louis van Gaal and likely to miss out on the Champions League next season, Griezmann may well prefer to stay at the Vicente Calderon.

The Red Devils are also reportedly interested in Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes and will attempt to hijack Juventus' deal for him, "should negotiations between Juventus and Valencia stall," per Filippo Cornacchia of Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t the Daily Star's Jonathan Green).
The 22-year-old has endured a somewhat difficult season with the struggling La Liga outfit, but he has nevertheless had a hand in 10 goals, scoring three and assisting seven in all competitions. Football writer Andrew Gaffney believes he has incredible potential:
United could use a revamp in midfield with Marouane Fellaini continuing to look out of place at Old Trafford and Michael Carrick's mobility becoming a serious issue against quicker teams.
Gomes could become an exceptional player in the future, and honing his craft alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger could further aid his development. So if United can beat Juventus to him, they'll have achieved a real coup.
