Miami Heat vs. Toronto Raptors: Live Score, Analysis for Game 1

Jared JohnsonMay 3, 2016

The Miami Heat edged out the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday night, 102-96, in overtime. A successful half-court heave by Toronto's Kyle Lowry at the fourth-quarter buzzer treated the fans in attendance to some free basketball, but the Heat opened the final period with eight unanswered points to put the game out of reach.

Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade were the primary offensive providers for the Heat throughout the game, supplying 50 points on the night, 38 of which came after halftime. The team also made eight of its 11 three-pointers and won the rebounding battle 52-41.

Toronto had trouble finding consistent offense as Lowry played one of his worst games of the season. The All-Star guard shot 3-of-13 from the field for a season-low seven points. Jonas Valanciunas did pick up some of the slack by putting up 24 points and 14 rebounds to help keep the score close throughout.

All eyes will be on Lowry as the series advances. Toronto will not be able to advance to its first conference finals in franchise history if he keeps playing at or near the level he did in Game 1, or the level he was at against the Indiana Pacers in the first round for that matter.

Game 2 will be in Toronto on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
