WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for May 4

The Doctor Chris MuellerMay 3, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

This is the first episode from the most recent block of tapings at Full Sail University. Besides all of the matches which were taped, the next TakeOver special was announced for June 8.

Finn Balor will get his rematch against Samoa Joe for the NXT title at TakeOver, so anyone who was hoping he would join his former Bullet Club teammates on the main roster will have to wait a little longer.

As far as this week's show is concerned, five matches have been booked. The first will feature Tessa Blanchard taking on Nia Jax.

Tessa is the daughter of Tully Blanchard, so she has a lot of pressure to live up to the legacy of her Hall of Fame last name. She isn't officially signed to a WWE contract yet, but a good showing against Jax could change that.

This isn't the first time she has appeared in WWE's developmental system. She also faced Alexa Bliss in a losing effort back in April.

We will also see the return of "Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger. He will be taking on Austin Aries in what should be a fast-paced match.

Aries has been nothing but impressive since he made his NXT debut a couple of months ago. He has racked up a string of wins and is looking to continue his streak during Wednesday's show.

However, if Dillinger were able to pick up the victory, it would change everything for him. He has never been given a proper push in NXT, and a win over someone like Aries would give him a big boost.

The tag team division will be represented this week by The Revival and The Hype Bros. Zack Ryder almost won a Battle Royal Monday night to become the new No. 1 contender for the United States Championship, so he needs this win to get back on the right track,

Both teams would make great challengers for American Alpha and the NXT Tag Team Championships, so whoever wins this bout could find themselves with a title shot in the near future.

No Way Jose is also back in action this week with a match against Noah Kekoah.

Jose has a gimmick which seems to have fans split down the middle. Some like his fun-loving personality, but others feel he will turn into a comedy character like Adam Rose or Santino Marella.

They say the cream always rises to the top, so if No Way Jose can impress management with his unique style, there's no reason why he can't be taken seriously while also having a good time.

The big story heading into this week's episode is the NXT debut of former TNA champion Eric Young. WWE has started to embrace minor spoilers when it comes to its developmental system, so his debut has been hyped on WWE.com and Twitter.

Young will take on another TNA original and current NXT champion, Samoa Joe. Seeing these two face each other in a WWE ring is something many never expected to happen.

Both of them were integral to TNA's success for many years, but more importantly, they have proved how talented they are on countless occasions.

Young will take on Joe in what is sure to be a great main event to cap off the evening. If he can defeat The Samoan Submission Machine, it will indicate WWE has big plans for him.

It will be great to see the show back at Full Sail University after weeks of matches taped during WrestleMania Axxess. It should be a great show, especially with a main event like Young vs. Joe.

What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
