Triple H's Top Potential Feuds Upon Return to WWE Programming
Ever since Triple H lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32, he has been absent from Raw, SmackDown and pay-per-views. Eventually, though, he’ll be back on WWE programming.
With Triple H’s wife, Stephanie McMahon, sharing booking duties with her brother, Shane, it’s inevitable that the WWE COO will eventually return to television to get involved in a marquee storyline heading toward SummerSlam.
Here are the best potential feuds for Triple H when he returns to WWE programming.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Shane McMahon
The most likely storyline for Triple H when he makes his return will be against Shane McMahon. With Stephanie and her brother going head-to-head with the booking of Raw, it will eventually break down into an all-out sibling rivalry.
Triple H would likely step in to defend his wife’s honor.
Vince McMahon has set Stephanie and Shane up to fail in the storyline, and the end result for any major feud should be a blow-off match. The siblings will not come to physical blows, so Triple H against Shane would be the next-best option.
With Bret Hart adding fuel to the fire on his radio show (h/t Wrestle Zone), saying the tension between Shane, Triple H and Stephanie could be legitimate, an eventual bout between Triple H and Shane would be a marquee addition to the SummerSlam card.
Seth Rollins
While most wrestling fans believe Triple H will come back to battle Shane McMahon, another returning star who could throw a wrench in the works for this feud would be Seth Rollins, who is reportedly expected back from a knee injury soon, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc.'s Marc Middleton).
Rollins was Triple H’s hand-chosen star and the company’s world champion before he suffered a devastating knee injury. Upon his return, how his relationship with The Authority has evolved should be a huge point of contention.
If Rollins returns to WWE programming and sides with Shane as one of the top faces in the company, the feud of the summer could be Rollins vs. Triple H, especially after The Architect turns his back on the COO and embraces the fan reaction.
The WWE Universe will shower Rollins with a cascade of support, making him one of the top faces on the roster. The company must embrace that reaction and pair him up with a top heel like Triple H. Add in their previous relationship, and Rollins turning his back on The Authority would be a great usage of The Game.
Bray Wyatt
One feud that is sliding under the radar for Triple H is a battle against Bray Wyatt once he returns from his calf injury. The two men had a staredown before WrestleMania, which may have foreshadowed a marquee storyline.
Wyatt had only recently turned face before suffering his injury, and one way to ensure the character change has a lasting impact on fans would be to square off against one of the top heels in WWE history.
Triple H must take a loss in the feud overall to build Wyatt’s credibility, but the storyline could be the first step in the long-term angle that leads to the match between Shane and Triple H.
With Shane possibly costing Triple H the win against Wyatt, the COO could help build a new star en route to having a main event-level matchup against his wife’s brother. This option may be the most far-fetched, but it could be the program that is best for business.
