Flacco Expected Back for Training Camp

Saturday, April 30

Per Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said during an appearance on the NFL Network that Flacco is "ahead of schedule and will be ready for training camp."

Last November, Harbaugh announced that Flacco would miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee during a game against the St. Louis Rams

At the time, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora said the best-case scenario for Flacco with an injury like that would be a return close to the start of next season before adding it could carry into 2016.

NFL teams open training camp in mid-July, no earlier than 15 days before their first preseason game. That timetable gives Flacco eight months of recovery time if he takes part in activities right away.

The Ravens' first preseason game is on August 11 against the Carolina Panthers, and they open the regular season on September 11 against the Buffalo Bills

Before the knee injury, Flacco was one of the NFL's most durable quarterbacks. He made 122 consecutive starts for the Ravens from 2008 until his knee injury, leading the franchise to a Super Bowl title with a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in 2013.
