Robert Nkemdiche to Cardinals: Twitter Reacts to DE's 2016 NFL Draft Selection
After trading for defensive end Chandler Jones, the Arizona Cardinals bolstered their defensive line once again by taking Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche with the 29th pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft on Thursday.
Nkemdicke was the former No. 1 recruit in the class of 2013 and was a potential top-10 talent this year before being charged with marijuana possession and suspended from the Sugar Bowl last year.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the Cardinals appreciated Nkemdiche's honesty about the issues regarding the marijuana and his fall out of a window in an Atlanta hotel. The Cardinals are taking a risk but believe they have their guy:
Here's what the rest of the Internet thinks of the Nkemdiche pick:
Nkemdiche is great value for the Cardinals this late in the first round. He only accounted for six sacks in three years at Ole Miss, but he should reach his full potential with Arizona's addition of Jones to bolster its pass-rushing needs.
He comes with red flags, but Nkemdiche can be the Randy Gregory-value pick of this year's draft if he stays out of trouble. He's a versatile, powerful lineman who plays the pass and the run very well. Head coach Bruce Arians has another defensive weapon at his disposal.
