Neymar Leak Reportedly Suspected from Within Barcelona

Leaks about Neymar's private life could reportedly be coming from inside Barcelona and are potentially contributing to the Brazilian's recent downturn in form.

Guillem Balague of Sky Sports recently reported Barca were "not fully unhappy" with media sources questioning Neymar's party lifestyle as they may be forced to sell him in the summer for financial reasons.

Now, Joaquim Piera of Sport has reported that Neymar, 24, is "extremely angry" about private stories emerging about him and revealed "it could be someone at the club who is giving away this information and wants to besmirch the striker."

As recently as Sunday night, Neymar was spotted attending a "glitzy after party" following the PFA Awards in London, per MailOnline's Adam Smith.

He had been given two days off by the Catalan giants following Saturday's 6-0 win over Sporting Gijon, but Sport's Lluis Mascaro suggested "Neymar's nights out, in these moments, are not suitable," with Barca scrapping for the title. 

It is not the first time Neymar has come under such scrutiny. There were suspicions back in March he may have purposefully got himself suspended in order to return home to Brazil to celebrate his sister's birthday, as he did the year before, per AS.

However, his lifestyle is being criticised more readily at the moment because he has dramatically lost form as Barca endured a tough run of results.

After their most recent defeat to Valencia on April 17—which saw them caught in La Liga by Atletico Madrid—Bleacher Report's Dean Jones questioned the former Santos man's discipline as well as his finishing:

Previously, when he was helping Barca to win the treble last season and steering the ship in Lionel Messi's injury-enforced absence earlier in the 2015-16 campaign, nobody questioned his lifestyle.

But, now that he and the side are encountering adversity, criticism has emerged, and rumours have continued to circulate that he could be headed for the exit door in the summer, per Balague.

If it is indeed a club source who has been leaking information about him, that could push Neymar even closer to a departure—a potentially devastating blow for the Blaugrana as he remains one of their most important players.
