WWE Superstar Power Rankings for Week of April 25
This week's WWE Superstar Power Rankings saw a lot of the same names make the list as last week, but there are still some new additions to the top 10.
WWE has done a great job featuring midcard, tag team and top talents in recent weeks, and it could lead to Payback being a more satisfying pay-per-view than WrestleMania 32.
A lot of different Superstars are being pushed simultaneously, and it feels like the first time in years that every storyline is being given proper attention.
Officials have reduced Roman Reigns' role a bit in response to the negative reactions he has been getting, and it's possible we could see a heel turn in the near future so the boos make sense.
Let's take a look at who made this week's Superstar Power Rankings.
10. The Vaudevillains
1 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Simon Gotch and Aiden English defeated The Usos to get their biggest main-roster win to date and advance to the finals of the tag team tournament at WWE Payback.
On top of that, The Vaudevillains had an entertaining exchange with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady on SmackDown to hype their upcoming No. 1 Contender's match.
It was a little surprising when they debuted on SmackDown the week after WrestleMania, but the throwback wrestlers have gone through two other teams to get to the final round of the tournament.
Their gimmick may not be for everyone, but they have great wrestling ability, a unique look and the support of NXT fans. If they can keep being entertaining, they might just avoid becoming the comedy jobbers many assumed they would be.
9. Baron Corbin
2 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Baron Corbin is starting to become the monster he was in NXT, and this week he managed to break into the top 10 by destroying both of his opponents.
He faced Fandango on Raw in a one-sided match, and he continued to assert his dominance by decimating Dolph Ziggler before he even made it to the ring on SmackDown.
He has a lot of work to do when it comes to being a good mic worker, but his intensity and attitude will help carry him through until he improves in that regard.
8. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows
3 of 10Previous Rank: No. 9
Newcomers Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows moved up a spot in this week's Power Rankings despite not having an actual match.
Not only have they become more intriguing since helping AJ Styles, but they made a big impact when they took out WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns on Raw.
Styles insists he is not asking them for help, but Anderson and Gallows continue assisting their former Bullet Club brother, which is giving everyone the impression they will reunite with a new stable.
We know they will make their wrestling debut on the forthcoming edition of Raw, and it seems likely they will pick up the win no matter which team they face.
It's rare for WWE to acknowledge Superstars' accomplishments outside the company, but it is starting to happen more often, which is a great way to make sure fans who don't pay attention to other promotions take them more seriously.
7. Natalya
4 of 10Previous Rank: No. 7
Natalya picked up two wins this week: one in an eight-woman tag match on Raw, and the other in a standard tag match on SmackDown.
Management is doing a good job building her up as a skilled veteran before she faces Charlotte for the Women's Championship at Payback.
She might not end up winning the title, but it's great to see her being given a more prominent position. She is one of the most skilled wrestlers in the division and has the veteran experience to help the younger generation.
Natalya and Charlotte have amazing chemistry in the ring, and they will likely have one of the best matches at Payback, just like they do every time they wrestle.
6. The Miz
5 of 10Previous Rank: Unranked
Say what you will about The Miz, but he is one of the few people who can still draw real heat from the WWE Universe these days.
New life was breathed into his character when Maryse returned and their real-life marriage was brought into his gimmick. They're so easy to hate when they are together, and they use that to their advantage.
He may have lost both of his matches last week, but that's not important. People often forget heels are not supposed to win often, and The Miz is always willing to put someone else over for the sake of a storyline.
He is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro at Payback. It will be interesting to see whether the title changes hands for a second time since WrestleMania 32 or the Miz can defeat one of the best technical wrestlers on the roster.
5. Enzo Amore and Big Cass
6 of 10Previous Rank: No. 6
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady picked up the biggest win of their careers when they defeated The Dudley Boyz on Raw to advance to the final round of the tag team tournament.
However, it was on SmackDown where they really shined. Amore is a special kind of talent when it comes to delivering promos, and those skills were on full display Thursday night.
Few can touch him when he has a mic in his hand, and that kind of charisma is something you just can't teach. You either have it or you don't.
They seem poised to become the new No. 1 contenders and win the Tag Team Championships from The New Day. One thing we know for sure is the promo segments featuring the two teams should be epic.
4. Kevin Owens
7 of 10Previous Rank: No. 8
Just like Amore, Kevin Owens has a special kind of charisma that allows him to be more entertaining than the majority of the roster.
He is even better in the ring. He may have lost to Dean Ambrose on Raw, but he was able to get some retribution by defeating him in a tag team match on SmackDown.
Owens and Sami Zayn have one of the better storylines going in WWE right now because it feels organic. Their real history outside of WWE has been used, and the groundwork was laid when they were in NXT.
It's just too bad Zayn keeps losing matches leading up to their showdown. It makes him look like an underdog, but he is coming dangerously close to being a top-level jobber.
3. AJ Styles
8 of 10Previous Rank: No. 1
AJ Styles has two different storylines going that have converged. He is No. 1 contender and will challenge Reigns for the title at Payback, but he is also dealing with Anderson and Gallows constantly inserting themselves into his business.
Styles has quickly established himself as one of the most talented competitors on the roster, and he keeps proving how good he is every single week.
He was always a great high-flyer, but his time in Japan helped him add new weapons to his arsenal and become a better overall wrestler.
He might not become the WWE world heavyweight champion this early in his run, but just being in the hunt for the title is a great sign for his future.
2. Dean Ambrose
9 of 10Previous Rank: No. 2
The Lunatic Fringe is one of those rare talents who only comes along once in a generation. He has a special connection with the crowd because he isn't the kind of wrestler you expect to see at the top of the card.
He's rough around the edges, but what he lacks in flash, he more than makes up for with charisma and wrestling ability.
He managed to best Owens on Raw, but KO got revenge on SmackDown. His Ambrose Asylum talk show started as a joke, but it looks like it might be a real thing going forward.
It's just a matter of time before he wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He's just too good to keep down.
1. Chris Jericho
10 of 10Previous Rank: No. 3
It's hard to believe Chris Jericho can perform at such a high level after more than 25 years in the business, but he continues to be one of the best wrestlers on the roster.
He picked up two wins this week, defeating Zayn on Raw and the team of Ambrose and Zayn on SmackDown alongside Owens.
The wins were all well and good, but the way he celebrated with Owens after their win on Thursday was one of the funniest things we got to see all week.
On top of all that, he appeared on Talking Dead Sunday night and reminded us what a great ambassador he is for the company without having to pander to the crowd.
Even if he loses to Ambrose at Payback, he will still be one of the most valuable talents the company has. Let's just hope his run doesn't end before he has a chance to get a huge win.
