Cam Newton Surprises 7th-Graders on Playground, Makes Their Day
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has made quite the habit of giving back to his young fans. During the season, it was touchdown balls, and in the offseason, it's apparently impromptu school visits.
According to a report from Anna Starnes of WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina, Newton was driving by the Community School of Davidson in Davidson, North Carolina, when he spotted a student clad in his jersey. After getting an OK from teachers, he apparently climbed the playground fence to join a group of seventh-graders.
"The students just herded all around him. I still can't believe he did that," teacher Mimi Siadak said, per Starnes.
