2016 NFL Mock Draft: Latest 1st-Round Predictions for Marquee Prospects

Notable Picks
2. Philadelphia Eagles: Carson Wentz

The package of the picks the Eagles parted with is the type of haul a team rarely gives up for anything other than a quarterback. So it's safe to assume either California's Jared Goff or North Dakota State's Carson Wentz will be Philadelphia's selection.
Michael Silver of NFL Network believes the Eagles are high on both quarterbacks but have a target in mind:
Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News speculated that the Eagles know who the Rams are taking but aren't allowed to divulge that information.
Logically, Bowen's conclusion makes sense given the package of picks general manager Howie Roseman sent to Cleveland. It would be difficult to believe he would agree to such a trade without knowing what he was getting in return.
3. San Diego Chargers: Laremy Tunsil

The Chargers front office must have been ecstatic when news broke of the Eagles' trade.
With Philip Rivers locked in as its franchise quarterback for at least a few more years, San Diego was never going to take a quarterback at No. 3. So with Wentz and Goff coming off the board with the first two picks, the Chargers are guaranteed to land the top player on their board.
A case can be made for Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil and Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey, but given San Diego's situation, Tunsil is the more logical selection.
As bad as the Chargers were in 2015, they have to operate based on their closing window of opportunity with the 34-year-old Rivers.
The fastest way to rebuild and ensure that Rivers stays healthy is to solidify the left tackle position for the foreseeable future with Tunsil.
8. Cleveland Browns: Ronnie Stanley

For now, the Browns sit at No. 8, but that might not be their final landing spot.
CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes the Browns are far from finished with their maneuvering:
Whether the Browns use the No. 8 pick or end up drafting further down the board, offensive line is one of the areas they are likely to address.
Obviously, the Browns weren't excited about Wentz or Goff as their future franchise quarterback, but they will be drafting a QB soon—either later in this draft or in 2017.
When the Browns finally do select a franchise quarterback, he'll be in a better position to succeed if the team has already rebuilt the offensive line.
Cleveland lost free-agent linemen Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz this offseason and has yet to adequately replace either on the depth chart. Adding another offensive lineman such as Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley would help fill that void.
