Kings vs. Sharks: Game 3 Live Score, Highlights for 2016 NHL Playoffs

Carol SchramApr 18, 2016

The Los Angeles Kings have new life after Tanner Pearson's overtime goal in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series against the San Jose Sharks.

The Kings traveled to San Jose down two games to none, and the picture looked bleak, especially after Joe Thornton gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead just 30 seconds into the contest.

But before the opening period concluded, Anze Kopitar replied on the power play with his first goal in 15 playoff games. After that, a tactical and physical game ensued. The final shot tally was 30-24 in favor of the Sharks, but the Kings outhit their hosts 61-39.

The game-winning goal in overtime came after Dustin Brown hit Joonas Donskoi along the boards, which popped the puck loose and allowed Tanner Pearson to close in on Martin Jones and give the Kings their first win of the series.

The Sharks lost to the Kings in the first round of the playoffs in 2014 after taking a 3-0 series lead, so Sharks fans are officially nervous.

San Jose leads the best-of-seven series 2-1, and Game 4 is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET Wednesday in the Shark Tank.
