Manchester United Transfer News: Nishan Burkart Signing Expected, Latest Rumours
The father of FC Zurichโs young forward Nishan Burkart has confirmed his son will join Manchester United at the end of the season. ย
Just 16 years old, the Swiss has been tipped for a very bright future in the game and, according to Aaron Flanagan of the Daily Mirror, he has attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea as well as the Red Devils. But speaking with Blick (h/t Flanagan), his father suggested the youngster has made his mind up.
โWe have decided to leave the club in the summer,โ said Stefan Burkart. โNishan switches to Manchester United. He just has different ideas, that's what business is like.โ

The clubโs president, Ancilo Canepa, has also insisted heโs happy to see the youngster head to Old Trafford, although as a result he wonโt be part of their plans for the rest of the season. โWe are concerned with planning for the squad next season,โ he said, per Flanagan.

Burkart is a young forward who will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of players such as Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at Old Trafford. Manager Louis van Gaal has shown a willingness to hand young players chances in the team, although it seems unlikely someone as tender in years as the FC Zurich man will feature in the first team any time soon.
Manchester United Considering Federico Bernardeschi

According to La Nazione (h/t Jamie Anderson of the Daily Star), Manchester United are plotting a ยฃ22 million summer bid for Fiorentina star Federico Bernardeschi.
The young winger has really caught the eye for La Viola this season with his superb close control, ability to take on opponents and telling contributions in the final third. Itโs noted by Anderson that legendary United boss Sir Alex Ferguson tried to land the Italian five years ago, but a deal didnโt come to fruition.
Now 22 years old, the winger is mature and beginning to make a major impression in Serie A. Here are some of the best moments from his tremendous season:
Heโs the kind of player who would light up Old Trafford. While Memphis Depay is a young winger who is taking time to settle at United, Bernardeschi is a more refined and reliable player. The Italian doesnโt take too many chances on the ball, he doesnโt panic when given time and despite still being young, he is a shrewd decision-maker.
As Bleacher Reportโs Adam Digby noted here, the Fiorentina man has been called up for the national squad earlier in the campaign:
United have looked a little toothless in wide positions this season, with Depay not having the kind of impact many anticipated. So itโd be understandable if some fans were a little wary about spending big on another up-and-coming wide man who is unproven in the Premier League.
