Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction
The Golden State Warriors cruised to a 104-78 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, to take a 1-0 lead in the teams' best-of-seven, first-round playoff series.
The No. 1-seeded Warriors were led by Stephen Curry, who scored 24 points in just 20 minutes before leaving the game with a turned ankle. Curry was available to return in the second half, but head coach Steve Kerr opted to keep him on the bench.
Klay Thompson pitched in with 16 points on 4-of-14 shooting. Draymond Green filled up the box score with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and four assists.
The No. 8-seeded Rockets, meanwhile, got 17 points on 7-of-19 shooting from James Harden. Golden State managed to avoid fouling him, though. The Rockets' leading scorer didn't take a single free throw.
Dwight Howard had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Game 2 is set for Monday at 10:30 p.m. ET and will air on TNT.
