Former Baylor University football player Shawn Oakman was arrested on April 13 for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after leaving a Waco, Texas, nightclub the morning of April 3, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald's Tommy Witherspoon.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network provided a statement from the Waco Police Department:

Joe Rodgers of Sporting News reported on Saturday that Oakman likely will have a grand jury hearing to determine what charges he'll face. On Monday, Alex Dunlap of Rivals.com revealed incident reports dating back to 2013 indicating Oakman has a pattern of violence toward women:

Waco police reportedly searched Oakman's home "looking for clothing the woman left behind at Oakman’s duplex, as well as earrings, blood, semen, bodily fluids, hair, skin cells, DNA, bedsheets and other items," per Witherspoon.

Citing court documents, Witherspoon reported that police seized "two comforters, a fitted sheet and a flat sheet" from the 24-year-old's bedroom.

Witherspoon added Oakman told police his sexual contact with the woman was consensual.

Police also filed an affidavit alleging Oakman "forced" the victim into a bedroom and onto the bed, and "forcibly removed" her clothes prior to the alleged assault, per Witherspoon.

The 6'8", 287-pound defensive end has been going through the NFL's predraft process over the past couple of months, but reports of his arrest figure to sink his stock with the draft just over two weeks away.

Not only did Baylor's all-time leader in sacks (17.5) face questions about his pro prospects after suffering a statistical backslide during his senior season (4.5 sacks compared to 11.0 the year prior), but he was also previously dismissed from Penn State University after being charged with a misdemeanor and fined for attempting to steal a sandwich.

Combine those on- and off-field concerns with an NFL Scouting Combine showing Rivals.com's Mike Farrell and Adam Gorney labeled "average," and it's not hard to envision a world in which Oakman slides far down draft boards.
