Hiddink Comments on Costa Recovery
Friday, May 13
Blues interim boss Guus Hiddink confirmed Costa will miss Chelsea's final game of the Premier League campaign, against Leicester City on Sunday. He also noted the striker could be available for Spain's UEFA European Championship defence if he is given a rest.
Costa Absence Signals Chance for Traore
The Stamford Bridge outfit never looks as impressive without the brutish force of Costa up front, and Hiddink will have to look to the likes of Bertrand Traore, Loic Remy and on-loan striker Alexandre Pato to tide Chelsea over in attack.
Costa endured a slow start to the 2015-16 campaign, but his scoring form picked up after Hiddink replaced former boss Jose Mourinho in December, and he boasts 16 goals across all competitions, per WhoScored.com.
Despite Chelsea's slight revival in the second half of the campaign, injuries ruined their chances of carving out any success, and Costa's latest setback doesn't help one bit.
