John Terry to Pay for Funeral of 8-Year-Old Chelsea Fan Who Died of Leukaemia
Chelsea captain John Terry will pay the funeral costs of eight-year-old Chelsea fan Tommi Miller, who died of leukaemia recently.
Terry met the youngster and sent him a personal letter during his time in hospital, and he expressed his sadness at the news.
"Having had the pleasure of meeting Tommi at a Chelsea game I was totally devastated to hear of him passing away," Terry told Cambridge News (via Metro). "I’m sure his family and friends will give him the send off he deserves."

With the costs of the funeral expected to come to £1,600, Tommi's mother, Ruth, expressed her gratitude for the former England defender's generosity.
"I’m overwhelmed really, because Tommi was such a great fan of John Terry in particular," she said. "He was one of his favourite players. We don’t want a traditional sort of funeral. It’s for a child, so we thought we would have it as bright and cheerful as he would want it."
