Crickmore hailed the "incredible feeling" of coming down the home straight in the lead, per the Manchester Evening News' Chris Slater and Lee Swettenham.

She came through as a convincing winner, too, as her time was over four minutes faster than the next woman to finish.

Bayton's was a slightly tighter victory, as he stayed with the front group from the off, and the Yorkshireman was clearly delighted with his performance, per Slater:

The elite runners were far from the only people in action in Manchester, as swathes of amateurs took part and strong crowds created a terrific atmosphere in the city.

Per Slater, approximately 15,000 runners were involved in this year's race, with competitors taking in parts of Stretford, Urmston, Sale and Altrincham on the 26.3-mile course, as well as Manchester United's famed Old Trafford stadium:

A range of abilities were on show with countless charity runners pounding the streets of Manchester for a variety of causes.

The gruelling nature of the run was eased somewhat by some decent weather and the fans who came out in droves to support all the participants.
