A mild panic spread across Arsenal Twitter on Thursday, as photos showing what could be the club's home kit for the 2016/17 season spread across the web.

The rumoured design features a predominantly red shirt with white shoulders along with red-and-white striped socks.

But it's the navy blue shorts that have caused outrage among Gunners fans, with the team having worn white shorts every year since 1899.
