Real Madrid Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo Price Named Amid United Rumours

Christopher SimpsonApr 5, 2016

Real Madrid will reportedly demand £48 million for Cristiano Ronaldo if they sell him this summer.

That's according to Sky Sports' Guillem Balague, who reported the Portuguese and Los Blancos "have been, in different ways, looking for a way out this summer" but Real are having difficulty finding suitors who can meet their asking price and Ronaldo's £16 to £20 million net salary.

Per Sport, one club interested in Ronaldo are Manchester United, who could look to bring him back to Old Trafford. Another is Paris Saint-Germain, whom Sport reported might have "switched attention to Neymar," but Balague believes they will have a much easier time prising Ronaldo away from Madrid than Neymar from Barcelona.

Sport's Lluis Mascaro further described Les Parisiens as "the team most interested in Ronaldo" as they seek a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and believes Balague's report to be "convincing," with the Portuguese not considered one of Florentino Perez's own signings and his "time in the capital has been full of bitterness."

PSG are reportedly more than willing to surpass Real's demands in order to make sure they land him, with Spanish outlet OK Diario (h/t Joe Short of the Express) reporting they have set aside £112 million to fend off United.

It seems as though Ronaldo will be plying his trade away from the Bernabeu next season despite scoring a phenomenal number of goals once again.

Ronaldo scored his 42nd of the season as he won El Clasico for Real at the Camp Nou on Saturday, per Sky Sports La Liga:

As Sky Sports Statto revealed, the forward has frequently found the net against the Blaugrana:

Spanish football journalists Kieran Canning and Andrew Gaffney praised the forward, though the latter also reserved plaudits for his team-mates Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale:

The superstar has often been below his best this season, racking up such a high tally of goals thanks in part to outstanding individual performances against the likes of Malmo and Espanyol rather than contributing week-in, week-out, but he could still be an excellent player for United once again or PSG.

The Red Devils have been poor up front for much of the season, but the injection of a player with Ronaldo's stature and killer finish would seriously reinvigorate their attack.

As for PSG, they're set to lose Ibrahimovic in the summer, and Ronaldo is one of relatively few players who could replace his goalscoring ability.

Both are realistic destinations for him, as his past with United and relationship with the Old Trafford faithful would likely work in their favour, while PSG can virtually offer guaranteed silverware—something he hasn't won nearly enough of with Real.

The latter might just be enough to swing it in the Ligue 1 side's favour, but a return to United wouldn't be too surprising.
