United States Vice President Joe Biden, who bleeds orange, did what he could to pick Syracuse up after its Final Four loss to North Carolina on Saturday.

The 73-year-old graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law praised Jim Boeheim as the best coach in the country and reminded the players how proud they made their fans.

“What a hell of a run,” Biden said. “Thank you for all the joy you gave us this year.”

Biden also drew some laughs as he joked with Trevor Cooney about being as good of an athlete as his grandfather, who grew up playing sports with the VP.

"He was proud of us," guard Michael Gbinije said, per Donna Ditota of Syracuse.com. "It's nice to see the vice president in your locker room."
