Zinedine Zidane Throws Himself to the Floor After Cristiano Ronaldo Hits the Bar

Tom WebbApr 3, 2016

Zinedine Zidane became the first Real Madrid manager since Bernd Schuster to win his maiden Clasico on Saturday, but it wasn't an easy ride for Los Blancos.

They fell behind to Gerard Pique's 56th-minute header, before Karim Benzema equalised brilliantly six minutes later.

Cristiano Ronaldo came close to putting Real ahead in the 82nd minute, but his fierce strike bounced off the top of the crossbar.

With the game level at that stage, Zidane struggled to contain his emotions as he threw himself to the floor in a semi-cartwheel, before regaining his composure and getting back to his feet.

The Frenchman was given reason to celebrate soon after, however, as Ronaldo converted Gareth Bale's cross to earn Real a much-needed victory.
