Syracuse vs. UNC: Live Score, Highlights for Final Four 2016

Brian PedersenApr 2, 2016

North Carolina has been the most dominant team in this NCAA tournament, and that continued on Saturday. It led almost wire-to-wire en route to an 83-66 win over Syracuse in Saturday's Final Four in Houston.

The top-seeded Tar Heels (33-6) move on to Monday's national title game against Villanova (34-5), looking for its sixth championship and third since 2005.

Tied at 18 with about eight minutes left, UNC went on a 21-10 run to take a 39-28 lead at halftime. The Heels led by double-digits almost the entire second half, winning by a combined 81 points in their five NCAA tourney games.

Syracuse (23-14) got as close as 57-50 with 9:49 left thanks to a 10-0 run, but then UNC started hitting three-pointers after missing its first 12. Combined with absolute dominance inside, the Heels couldn't be slowed on offense.

UNC shot 53.8 percent overall and made 32-of-48 two-pointers, with Brice Johnson and Justin Jackson each scoring 16 and Marcus Paige adding 15. Trevor Cooney had 22 points and Malachi Richardson added 17 in a losing effort for Syracuse, which made its second Final Four in four years despite being a No. 10 seed and one that many thought wasn't deserving of an NCAA bid.
