ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington is out for the rest of the 2009 season with a torn capsule in his right throwing shoulder in yesterday's loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Pennington will seek a second opinion from renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama later this week who performed two other surgeries on him during his career with the New York Jets.

Second year quarterback Chad Henne who threw for 92 yards with an interception on 10-of-18 passes will take over for the time being.

A two-time AP Comeback Player of the Year, Pennington signed a two-year deal with Miami after being cut by the Jets during training camp last season.
