Real Madrid Transfer News: Romelu Lukaku Alert Sounded Amid Juventus Rumours

Matt JonesMar 30, 2016

Mino Raiola, the agent for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, has hinted Real Madrid are in the frame for his client's signature this summer.

The Belgium star has been in wonderful form this season and has spoken candidly about his futureor lack of onewith the Toffees while away on international duty.

His agent has also offered an insight into the clubs who may be keen on getting him out of Merseyside, per Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Kristof Terreur of Het Laatste Nieuws).

"A move to Juve could be great for Lukaku," said Raiola. "But watch out for Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid."

Terreur doesn't foresee the striker ending up in Turin this summer, though, despite the club's longstanding interest:

The renowned agent has also insisted that after enjoying the finest season of his career so far, the 22-year-old is now primed to play for one of the top sides on the continent.

Per Wally Downes Jr. of the Sun, Raiola said:

"

He’ll keep getting stronger. Everything depends on his work and on luck.

He’s already ready to play in Europe’s best teams.

We’ve put a structure together that allows him to only think about football. This has allowed him to think exclusively about his personal objectives.

"

Lukaku revealed during the domestic hiatus that he wants to move on. “That is the next step for me,” he said of a move away from Goodison Park, per Sky Sports News HQ (h/t Allan Valente of Sky Sports). “I'm 23 next summer and I think it would be nice to play in the Champions League from next season.”

As these numbers from Squawka Football showcase, Lukaku has been one of the most impressive goalscorers in the Premier League for a long time now:

When you consider his tender years, that’s hugely impressive. Despite being just 22, there’s clearly a composed head on Lukaku’s shoulders, and since his move to Everton, he’s shown a tremendous appetite to make improvements to his game.

This season everything has aligned for the striker. His goalscoring qualities have carried this Toffees side, who play an enterprising style of attacking football but are unable to keep teams out at the back.

As a result, they’re languishing in 12th place in the Premier League and set for their second successive bottom-half finish.

Needless to say, for a player of Lukaku’s quality, that’s not living up to his ambition; Real Madrid, by contrast, certainly would be.

As these numbers from Bleacher Report’s Karl Matchett illustrate, he’d be alongside some stellar goalscorers at the Santiago Bernabeu:

Real are one of the few clubs that’d be able to force Lukaku out of Everton, too. After all, the Toffees are renowned for their stubbornness when it comes to selling players and for someone like the 22-year-old—young, in form, in demand, on a long contract and still improving—they can set their valuation very high.

Lukaku’s ability to adapt brute power and raw pace would make him a fine option at the point of Los Blancos' attack.

He may not be quite as cultured as the likes of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but the raw tools are there for him to become one of the best forwards around. It’ll be intriguing to see whether or not they feel the striker is worth the plunge.
