Jalen Reynolds Declares for 2016 NBA Draft: Latest Comments and Reaction

Xavier redshirt junior forward Jalen Reynolds will declare for the 2016 NBA draft without an agent, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported on Tuesday. 

Reynolds averaged 9.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for a Xavier team that lost to Wisconsin in the second round of the NCAA tournament.    

His news comes just hours after Goodman reported on Tuesday that Xavier's leading scorer, sophomore guard Trevon Bluiett, will also declare for the draft. 

Bluiett and Reynolds helped the Big East team go 28-6, its best season since it won 30 games in 2007-08 while a member of the Atlantic 10. 

The Associated Press poll ranked the Musketeers as high as fifth in 2015-16—the highest in program history—and the team earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament before an early exit to No. 7-seeded Wisconsin. 

Reynolds took advantage of his limited time at the Big Dance and showed off the athleticism in his 6'10", 232-pound frame, via CBS Sports:

Over his three seasons with Xavier, Reynolds has averaged a shooting percentage of 56.6 from the field, as he's proved to be a strong scorer near the basket who can bully his way to the rim.

Teams on the collegiate level, such as Providence, proved they couldn't stop him, via the Big East:

NBA teams looking for some frontcourt help deeper in the draft could take a chance on him—especially ones looking to add muscle. 

Along with Bluiett, Reynolds will look to be the first Xavier player taken in the NBA draft since Semaj Christon was taken No. 55 by the Miami Heat in 2014.
