Drew Hutchison Exits vs. Rays After Being Hit in Head by Throw

Tyler ConwayMar 27, 2016

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Drew Hutchison left in the fifth inning of Sunday's spring training game against the Tampa Bay Rays after being hit in the head by a throw from catcher A.J. Jimenez.

Jimenez was attempting to throw out Rays shortstop Brad Miller, who was stealing second base. The throw hit Hutchison in the back of the head, and he appeared fine to stay in the game before being attended to by the Jays' training staff.

"That’s what you get for being dumb and walking the leadoff guy," said Hutchison, who said he was fine, per Shi Davidi of Sportsnet
