Referee Checks North Dakota Hockey Player After Goal in NCAA Tournament Game

Katie RichcreekMar 26, 2016

There is nothing quite like getting checked by the referee to celebrate a goal.

North Dakota Fighting Hawks forward Drake Caggiula took a nasty hit from the official right after opening the scoring in Saturday's NCAA tournament quarterfinal against the Michigan Wolverines, abruptly stopping his actual celebration.

The goal lifted the Fighting Hawks to a 1-0 lead in the first period. The winner will advance to the Frozen Four in Tampa, Florida.
