Martin O'Neill Says Only Attractive Wives Are Welcome at Euro 2016

Ryan BaileyMar 24, 2016

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has been full of jokes and witty quips in recent press conferences, but one joke he made on Thursday may have been a little misguided.

Ahead of Friday's friendly with Switzerland at the Aviva Stadium, O'Neill was asked whether players' wives and girlfriends would be welcome to attend Euro 2016 with the team.

He said: "Well, it depends on how good-looking the girls are. If they are really attractive, they're very, very welcome. The uglier ones, I'm afraid not."
