Liverpool will reportedly go head-to-head with Manchester United to sign Marseille winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

Football writer Kristian Sturt relayed the news from French outlet Le10Sport.com:

The youngster is enjoying an impressive campaign with his new side after moving from Nantes in the summer, bagging 10 goals and five assists in all competitions, including this outstanding effort against his former side, per BT Sport Football:

Four of his goals have come in the UEFA Europa League, and that naturally saw the 21-year-old stand out in the group stages of the competition, per Scouted Football:

Here are some of his other highlights:

As the video demonstrates, the Frenchman is a tricky and pacy winger with an eye for goal who could add real width to Liverpool's side—something they've perhaps lacked since Raheem Sterling left.

There's space for a player to cement a place in Liverpool's attacking midfield three alongside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, and with the qualities he could bring to Anfield, Nkoudou has the potential to secure that starting berth.

The Reds are also reportedly hoping to sign Cologne duo Timo Horn and Jonas Hector this summer, according to German outlet Bild (h/t the Mirror's Aaron Flanagan), and could land the pair for a total of £14 million.

Cologne's goalkeeper Timo Horn (L) and Cologne's defender Jonas Hector react after the German first division Bundesliga football match FC Cologne vs Borussia Moenchengladbach in Cologne, western Germany on September 19, 2015. Cologne won the match 1-0.

Commentator Dan O'Hagan believes Horn would be an upgrade on the unreliable Simon Mignolet, while fellow commentator Kevin Hatchard is an admirer:

The 22-year-old has been a steady presence between the sticks for the Bundesliga side this season and would indeed be a better choice than Mignolet, who has frequently made costly mistakes throughout his time at Anfield.

As for left-back Hector, Bleacher Report's own Sam Tighe recently ran the rule over him:

Bleacher Report's Jack Lusby also believes Hector would make an excellent signing:

Alberto Moreno does little to inspire defensively, and after shipping 40 goals already this season, it's clear Liverpool need to improve throughout their back linenot just in goal.

The left-back area has been a problem position for some time at Liverpool, so they'd be taking a strong step toward resolving it with his capture.
