Kolo Toure Put a 2-Footed Tackle on Arsene Wenger During His Arsenal Trial

Kolo Toure turns 35 years old on Saturday, which has prompted Times journalist Oliver Kay to recall his favourite anecdote about the Ivorian defender.

Kay tweeted a page from John Cross' book Arsene Wenger: The Inside Story of Arsenal Under Wenger, which tells the tale of Kolo's trial at Arsenal.

After taking out Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp during a training exercise, Toure proceeded to plant a painful two-footed tackle on the French manager.  

Incredibly, this led to a long and successful career at Arsenal rather than banishment from the beautiful game.
