Barcelona Goalkeeper Says Mesut Ozil Is 'Just Like Lionel Messi'

Mesut Ozil is enjoying his annus mirabilis with Arsenal, with seven goals and 19 assists to his name across all competitions in this campaign. 

As Arsenal prepare to face the music at the Camp Nou, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has offered a favourable comparison between his international teammate and Blaugrana star Lionel Messi, per the London Evening Standard:

As a footballer, Ozil is a player who can do unthinkable things, just like Messi.

He is impressive, and we will have to be alert that he does not harm us. I have played with him two or three times and he is a very significant player for the German national team and can do incredible things.

"

For the record, Ter Stegen went on to clarify that “everyone knows Leo Messi is the best player in the world.” But perhaps this comparison will offer hope to Gunners fans that Ozil can completely turn Wednesday evening's game to his team's advantage, much like the Argentinian star did at the Emirates in the first leg.
