Kenyan Half-Marathon Runner Robert Mbithi Trips over Finishing Line Tape in Bath
Joe GallagherMar 14, 2016
What's the last thing you need when you've just run a half marathon in 1:01:45? Probably this.
Kenya's Robert Mbithi, along with 15,000 other runners, was taking part in Bath, England, on Saturday when his moment of glory was spoiled by a gaffe on the finishing line.
Mbithi, who set a course record on the weekend, took a tumble over the line as one unfortunate official clung on to the tape a little too long.
But don't despair—he didn't seem to be hurt and was back on his feet soon enough.
