Rugby League star Haydn Peacock has revealed how he suffered a truly horrific injury playing for AS Carcassonne in a French Federation of Rugby League Elite 1 match in February.
Talking to freelance journalist Guy Williams (via Daily Mail Australia), the 23-year-old Australian explained how his penis was lacerated when an opposing player grabbed it while making a tackle during the game. He initially played on before discovering the extent of his injury during the break:
"At half-time I was like, I've got to have a look, I checked on it and the skin was half ripped off and I was like, s--t, where's the doctor? Where's the doctor? He (the opposition player) made a tackle by reaching out and grabbing my d--k, he got a hold of my d--k with one hand and pulled me down.
"
Williams underwent surgery and received multiple stitches before declining his coach's request to wear a cup during the next game.
He later joked about the incident on Instagram, writing: "Not the best reason to be on the front page of the paper this morning. #rugbyleague is definitely not a sport I recommend. 11 stitches later for the little fella but she'll be right."
