Brock Lesnar on WWE Raw: Breaking Down Best Booking Options for Monday's Show
After watching Brock Lesnar dominate Luke Harper on Saturday night at Roadblock, the WWE Universe is ready to see what The Beast has in store for Dean Ambrose as the Road to WrestleMania 32 kicks into high gear on Raw.
WWE.com is advertising Lesnar for the March 14 episode of Monday Night Raw, and wrestling fans are fully expecting a confrontation between the two WrestleMania 32 opponents. The Beast and The Lunatic are on a collision course that will explode Monday.
Here are the best booking options for Lesnar on Monday’s episode of Raw.
Option 1: Ambrose Interrupts Lesnar and Heyman
After destroying Harper at WWE Roadblock, Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman, will undoubtedly address wrestling fans in Pittsburgh about The Beast’s Road to WrestleMania, but the promo should be cut off quickly by Ambrose’s music.
Ambrose came up just short against Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but he will bounce back Monday by once again showing Lesnar he is not afraid of him. Stepping back into the lion’s den will send the message that Ambrose is focused on WrestleMania 32.
At some point, Ambrose has to get the upper hand on Lesnar the same way he did against Triple H leading into Roadblock, but it should not come immediately. Lesnar dominated the bigger and stronger Harper on Saturday, and he should toss around Ambrose on Raw.
In typical Ambrose fashion, though, he should take the beating and ask for more.
The key Monday will be switching gears from Roadblock to WrestleMania build, and there is no better way than unleashing The Beast on his next opponent. With WWE also looking to elevate Ambrose after fighting Triple H, a face-to-face confrontation between The Lunatic Fringe and Lesnar would make for an exciting segment.
Option 2: Lesnar and Ambrose Battle All Night
While one segment featuring Ambrose and Lesnar would make for an exciting moment, the WWE should embrace the idea of having the storyline between the two men run throughout the entire episode.
WWE Creative proved it knew how to book an angle that runs throughout the night during Seth Rollins’ championship reign, and they must do it again. Both Ambrose and Lesnar deserve to be highlighted throughout the night, and with Roman Reigns not advertised for the show, most of the WrestleMania 32 build should be focused on the Ambrose vs. Lesnar Street Fight.
This time, when Lesnar is entering the building, it should be Ambrose who brutally attacks him and leaves him dazed. Throughout the night, Lesnar could be searching for Ambrose until they eventually meet and have an evenly matched pull-apart brawl.
The July segment featuring Lesnar and Undertaker beating each other up until security pulled them apart is the perfect precedent for what Ambrose and Lesnar should do Monday. Ambrose deserves to look strong after taking the loss to Triple H at Roadblock, and being involved with Lesnar all night before going toe-to-toe with The Beast would make Monday’s episode of Raw truly interesting.
