Russell Wilson Announces Engagement to Ciara on Instagram

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been a consistent king of the NFL offseason.

Two years ago, he was celebrating his first Super Bowl win. Last year, he netted an $87.6 million contract extension, and this year, he got engaged.

On Friday, Wilson posted on Instagram to let his fans know that his girlfriend, musical artist Ciara, said "yes" when he popped the big question:

Wilson and Ciara have been dating for a little over a year and have publicly remained celibate. 

The Seahawks star elaborated on the couple's decision in July, citing his relationship with God on a panel with the Rock Church, per Christine Thomasos of the Christian Post.

"I asked her, 'What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus' way, no sex?'" Wilson said when recounting his conversation with Ciara.

Wilson was previously married, and Ciara has a son with her former fiance. 

The two have been in the spotlight at various high-profile events and locations, including the ESPYs, Grammys, Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards and the White House.

If they weren't already, Wilson and Ciara are quickly elevating their way up the chain as an NFL power couple. Now, they both have rings to show for it.
