Red Bull Films Levi LaVallee Snowmobiling on Streets of St. Paul, Minnesota
Red Bull has put together an incredible video of American snowmobile racer Levi LaVallee enjoying himself on the streets of his native Minnesota's capital, St. Paul.
It shows the 33-year-old roaming around the streets on a modified snowmobile, turning everything he can find into a jump, a slide or an obstacle.
"As a kid, you’re always looking at things like 'Oh, I could probably jump that,' when you’re driving through a city," he told the Red Bull website. "To be able to actually go do that, it was like a fairy tale."
"I remember touring the capital," he said. "To think that all of that stuff I went and looked at as a kid, now I’m jumping and doing these amazing stunts. That was a pretty cool feeling."
LaVallee said that while there were a few mechanical problems, the locals and St. Paul police pulled together to help create the impressive film.
And the X Games gold medallist admitted that a few of the stunts had him nervous.
"There were quite a few different ones that had me questioning myself," he said. "There was quite a few high-risk jumps out there. One that I was really nervous about to begin with was the bridge drop. That was scary, until I actually did it, then I realized it wasn’t so bad."
"It’s an 80-foot hole next to the parking garage," he said. "To jump over that, there’s really no room for error; if you don’t make it over that hole, that’s obviously life and death."
The results, though, are spectacular.
