Dodgers Hold Spring Training Pingpong Tournament, Complete with Player Intros

Kyle NewportMar 10, 2016

Major League Baseball teams will do a variety of things as units throughout the eight-month season to take a break from the game and stay loose.

As for the Los Angeles Dodgers, they have already come together this spring training by holding a team pingpong tournament.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez took video of the championship round, which even featured player introductions:

It's a shame the players couldn't use their walk-up music for the event. But hey, the introductions were fantastic even without tunes.

While there was only a short video of the actual action, Gonzalez let it be known that the duo of pitcher Brandon Beachy and outfielder Scott Van Slyke walked away as champions, which means they have bragging rights until the next tournament.

Judging by the Twitter accounts of other Dodgers players, table tennis is not the only sport they dabble in away from their day jobs:

Now this seems like a fun clubhouse to be in.
