The Indianapolis Colts released outside linebacker Bjoern Werner on Tuesday, according to a release on the team's official website.

Werner, 25, managed just 11 tackles and a fumble recovery in 10 games last season. He was inactive for six games.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As Field Yates of ESPN noted, Werner's selection was the first of two poor draft decisions by the Colts in 2013-14:
The Colts traded their 2014 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for running back Trent Richardson, who was also a colossal bust, early in the 2013 season.
Werner wasn't the only edge-rusher to dramatically underachieve in the 2013 draft, however, as Bruce Feldman of FoxSports.com tweeted:
It's possible that a change of scenery could rejuvenate Werner, who never appeared to be a natural fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker. He may be better suited to playing defensive end in a 4-3 scheme, though he showed little indication in Indianapolis that he could ever be an impact pass-rusher.
Generating more of a pass rush remains a need for the Colts, meanwhile, after veterans Kendall Langford and Robert Mathis led the Colts with seven sacks apiece in 2015. The Colts were tied for 22nd in the NFL last season with 35.0 sacks total.
