Real Madrid Transfer News: 3 Major Targets Revealed, Miralem Pjanic Rumours
Manchester United's David De Gea, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski are Real Madrid's three top summer transfer targets, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.
Per Luke Gardener of the Daily Star, he said: "The plan is to change the team and bring big players in next season. There are targets, but I do not know if they will meet them. They want De Gea, Eden Hazard and Robert Lewandowski, however that does not mean they will get them."
Los Blancos are facing an impending transfer ban that could see them prevented from registering players in 2017, meaning this summer will be their last chance to bring in reinforcements ahead of the embargo.

After a difficult season in which they face the prospect of missing out on La Liga to Barcelona yet again, something of an overhaul is needed for them to truly rival the Blaugrana once again.
TV personality Jeinny Lizarazo believes as much:
"The truth needs to be told...this Real Madrid needs a new overhaul this summer...time to bring in new blood...this blood has turned stale

Per football journalist Dermot Corrigan, Real manager Zinedine Zidane admitted there could indeed be plenty of change at the Bernabeu this summer:
Naturally, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will be hoping for some marquee "Galactico"-style recruits, and the trio above fit the bill perfectly.
Keylor Navas is a reliable goalkeeper, but De Gea would provide Real with a long-term replacement for the legendary Iker Casillas after he was allowed to leave for Porto.
Hazard and Lewandowski will increase their options up front and be excellent candidates to replace the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo or James Rodriguez, should they be among those heading for the exit door in the Spanish capital.

Lewandowski has scored 33 goals this season, and while Hazard has had a poor campaign at Stamford Bridge, he won the Player of the Year award last season as he helped Chelsea lift the Premier League title.
As Balague noted, however, landing all three will be exceedingly difficult even for Real, as their clubs will be desperate to keep hold of them. If they do manage to add them to their squad, though, they'll have gone some way to closing the gap on Barcelona.
Another player who could fit in at Real Madrid is Roma's Miralem Pjanic, according to veteran of both clubs Cicinho. Per Goal's Adrian Boullosa, he said: "Pjanic would fit at Real Madrid. He plays more or less like [Luka] Modric. If Real Madrid sign him, he will play very well. Pjanic is a key player to Roma. If Real Madrid stop him, Roma will lose a lot."

The midfielder dismissed rumours linking him with Real Madrid ahead of the January transfer window, but should Los Blancos pursue him this summer it's likely he'd consider a switch.
As OptaPaolo revealed, the 25-year-old has been in outstanding form this season:
Here are some of his highlights:
Comfortable on the ball, creative and deadly from set pieces, Pjanic is similar to Real's maestro Modric in a number of regards.
A defensive midfielder who can add balance to the side should be Los Blancos' priority for reinforcing in the centre this summer, but Pjanic is an excellent player who could thrive if given the chance at the Bernabeu.
