After undergoing shoulder surgery, which had kept him out since May, Zayn made his return to WWE as a participant in the Royal Rumble match. Although he didn't win a spot in the main event at WrestleMania, Zayn has been involved in the main event picture in NXT since his return.

WWE's biggest question will be figuring out what to do with Zayn. Monday's actions could result in Zayn and Owens meeting for the intercontinental title as the two stars rekindle their NXT rivalry.
