Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Grzegorz Krychowiak and Ahmed Musa Rumours
Arsenal will battle Manchester City for the services of £25 million-rated Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who is wanted by incoming Sky Blues manager Pep Guardiola.
Mike McGrath of the Sun reported Gunners coach Arsene Wenger has targeted the Poland international to solve his defensive midfield problems after Arsenal's title challenge was damaged by a lack of steel in the central positions.
The Frenchman sees Krychowiak as a natural replacement for both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, who could leave the club in the summer, per McGrath. Wenger considered a move for the La Liga talent in January but opted for the cheaper purchase of Mohamed Elneny.

McGrath added Guardiola has watched the development of the player over the past two years and wants to add him to his new squad when he takes control of the North West club next season.
Krychowiak has been a huge success in Spain, and has started 26 games for his club in the Spanish Primera Division and the Champions League this term, according to WhoScored.com.
However, the player has previously voiced concerns about the English climate when linked to Arsenal in the past after enjoying two seasons in sunny Spain. He told Polish outlet Sport.pl (h/t George Bellshaw of Metro): "A future in England? It's too cold there."
Here is a complication of the player's attributes:
In other news, CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa has said he wants a move to Arsenal after initially being linked with a transfer to Leicester City.
The player told Russian outlet Championat (h/t Max Miller of Metro) he is a longtime supporter of the Gunners:
"Interest from clubs? What club? I do not care!
But Musa has to play, you know. I cannot sit on the bench. So I will have to go to the Premier League club that will believe in me.
I would be happy if I was wanted by Arsenal. I have supported the team since the age of six. Nwankwo Kanu has been my idol since childhood. It will be fantastic to play for Arsenal.
[...]
I will not hide it – Leicester actually came to our club. But I repeat that I want to finish the season with CSKA to help them to win a championship, and then think about changing team.
"
African sports expert Gary Al-Smith highlighted the Gunners need to add to their forward stock:

Krychowiak is certainly the type of midfielder Arsenal crave; he would walk into Wenger's starting XI the minute he arrived in north London.
The Pole has proved he is ready for a bigger stage than Sevilla can offer him, and it's no surprise Guardiola is impressed with his technical ability.
The 26-year-old is the archetypal modern defensive midfielder; he is not only a destroyer but possesses the skill set of a player who can operate further up the field.
Krychowiak's tackling and interception work are exceptional, and he would enjoy life in the Premier League, if not the weather.
