NASCAR at Las Vegas 2016: Live Results and Analysis from the Kobalt 400
Brad Keselowski overcame a pit-road speeding penalty late in the race to capture his first checkered flag of the season in Sunday afternoon's Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
His trip to Victory Lane, the first for the No. 2 car since early last season at Auto Club Speedway, came through a combination of gutsy driving and strategy in a race dominated by some rain, high winds and even a nearby sandstorm.
Keselowski was running near the front when he was nabbed for speeding coming off pit road under caution on Lap 180 and was forced to start at the rear. He raced his way through the field and stayed out under a late caution, conserving fuel and passing Kyle Busch for the lead with five laps to go.
Team Penske completed a one-two finish with Joey Logano crossing the start-finish line just after his teammate for his first top-five of the season.
Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon rounded out the rest of the top five.
NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series returns to action next Sunday for the Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, and Bleacher Report will bring you live coverage.
