EA Sports UFC 2 Preview: Full Roster, Fighter Ratings and Release Date

EA Sports UFC 2 will be available on March 10 for Xbox One owners who also subscribe to EA Access, per EA Sports. For non-subscribers and PlayStation 4 owners, the game will hit retailers on March 15.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and superstar Ronda Rousey are on the cover, and the two polarizing figures headline the game's massive roster. More than 250 fighters will be available at launch, and that's not even counting the men and women who could be added via downloadable content after release.

Top-Rated Fighters

The Notorious One Is Dangerous in Stand-Up

McGregor is the top-rated stand-up fighter in EA Sports UFC 2, per the tweet above from EA Sports. Who can argue with that distinction? He has recorded 17 of his 19 wins by KO, and the most recent finish was a 13-second demolition of all-time great and longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

We do have to wonder whether Holly Holm should be ahead of Luke Rockhold on the list. The UFC middleweight champion is a great fighter in just about every facet, but Holm's boxing prowess, as shown in her destruction of Rousey, is impressive.

Perhaps Holm needs to finish Miesha Tate in the UFC 196 co-main event to get a bump in her ratings.

Stay Out of Cormier's Clinch

Olympic medalist and current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is a monster grappler, and his dominance doesn't have to take place on the mat. Cormier might be the most prolific slammer in the UFC, and these maneuvers start in the clinch.

That's the reason Cormier is tops in clinch rating. Just behind him is powerful but oft-injured Russian lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.

If healthy, he'd be the guy McGregor may not want to see coming.

Pound-for-Pound Best

Despite his recent absence, the folks at EA Sports rightly acknowledge that Jon "Bones" Jones is still the best fighter in the world. He and UFC flyweight champion Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson are the top-rated fighters in the game.

Johnson is often overlooked, but his combination of speed, wrestling, submission acumen and cardio is nearly unmatched in the sport.
